Food for thought‘[...] do not think that good design can make a poor product good, whether the product be a machine, a building, a promotional brochure or a business man. But [...] good design can materially help make a good product reach its full potential. In short, [...] good design is good business.’

Les Triplettes – homage to Django

May 14, 2008, 1:58 AM

Fun to see the great jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt‘s caricature in Les Triplettes de Belleville (one of the best animation films ever made – not kidding). If you’re wondering about his left hand fingers, Django lost two of them in a fire at the age of 18, yet he managed to relearn and master the quitar, becoming a jazz guitar legend, in spite of his handicap.

If you ever find yourself working late at night and want to be energized, hoping to work for hours without feeling the time flying by, do listen to Django. Highly recommended for sunny afternoons as well ;)

Mr. Porky – swiney todd stuff :)

March 7, 2008, 12:08 AM

I know most would be horrified by this product, but for me they are pretty much like Proust’s madeleines, reminding me of my grandparents’, as a kid, sitting comfy on the big old sofa, Christmas Eve, eating pork scratchings and smoked sausages, sipping some good home-made rosé wine out of a tailor’s-finger-pad-sized glass…

To my delight I’ve found these Mr. Porky (note the hilarious butcher – the POS had him full monty, uncovered as packs were sold :)) ) in an irish pub here in Bucharest yesterday. They went smoothly along some vodka beers. Or was it the other way around? :))

Killer Bean Forever

February 26, 2008, 12:51 AM

I can’t believe they’re making this :)) Killer bean was a short animation that everybody had and showed everybody some good years ago. It was pure fun, just like Doom or Duke Nuke’em was. Check out the site for more details.

This is the fearsome truth of what we are evolving into. Period. But whatta hell, at least we’ve got beer. Cheers! :))

Escher's maddening illusions come to life

February 21, 2008, 4:09 PM

Echochrome is a new game by Sony for PS3 and PSP. Using Escher-like puzzles and environments, it seems to be “infinitely” fun. Made in Japan.

Jew Jitsu – oldest trick in The Book?

February 20, 2008, 1:22 PM

Hilarious pun and photo. This must be a part from the forbidden chapters of the Old Testament. Asians would never see this coming :))

Steep rides

December 29, 2007, 2:15 PM

Just got back from skiing and this trailer blew me away. Steep (movie) seems to show what extreme freeride skiing is all about. And no, no hip-cool-look-at-my-new-hairstyle snowboarders :P (snowboarding is a fashion these days, not a sport for the brave – it’ll cool down in time and remain among the true fans, just like surfing and other “cool” sports did).

Watch in awe:

Trailer also on Apple page.
